CONTRACT
It's important to have a therapy contract so that working boundaries are clear. This is a copy of my contract for individuals. The contract for couples is slightly different.
"The points below have been discussed between myself and Clare. I understand them and agree to work with Clare within the terms of this contract.
Code of Ethics and Practice
Clare is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and endeavours to work by their Code of Ethics, a copy of which is available at this link or on request or at
https://www.bacp.co.uk/events-and-resources/ethics-and-standards/ethical-framework-for-the-counselling-professions/
Confidentiality
Details of sessions are confidential. Clare reviews her work with her supervisor but identifying details will not be used in these sessions. This confidentiality does not cover the following:
i serious injury or harm will be caused to myself or another individual.
ii Clare is summonsed by a Court.
iii I become acutely suicidal.
Length of Sessions
Psychotherapy is offered for 50 minutes, weekly. This can be renegotiated.
Endings
I understand that I am free to end psychotherapy at any point. I also understand the importance of ending psychotherapy carefully and, unless there are extenuating circumstances, will give Clare at least two weeks notice of my intention to end so that our work can conclude appropriately.
Financial Agreement
I have paid a £100 deposit that will be returned to me within 5 working days of the end of contracted work unless I have missed a session, not given Clare 48 hours notice, and not paid for that session. In this event, the contract will be renegotiated.
Clare and I will give at least 48 hours notice of holidays or other break. I understand that I will lose my deposit if I don't give 48 hours notice and that if I continue to work with Clare another £100 deposit will be required.
The cost of each session is £100
