CONTRACT
It's important to have a therapy contract so that working boundaries are clear. This is a copy of my contract for individuals working face to face with me. The contract for telephone and Skype counselling are slightly different and the contract for working with couples is different again. In Groupwork, the group creates the contract.

Code of Ethics and Practice
Clare is a member of the National Counselling Society and endeavours to work by its Code of Ethics, a copy of which is available on request or at https://www.nationalcounsellingsociety.org/about-us/code-of-ethics
Confidentiality
Details of sessions are confidential. Clare reviews her work with her supervisor but identifying details will not be used in these sessions. This confidentiality does not cover the following:
i serious injury or harm will be caused to myself or another individual.
ii child abuse has been disclosed.
iii Clare is summonsed by a Court of Law.
iv I become acutely suicidal.
Length of Sessions
Psychotherapy is offered for 50 minutes, weekly. This can be renegotiated.
Abusive or Threatening Behaviour
Abusive or threatening behaviour by either myself or Clare is not acceptable. Clare reserves the right to withdraw services if I become abusive or threatening.
Financial Agreement
I have paid a £40 deposit that will be returned to me within 5 working days of the end of contracted work unless I have missed a session, not given Clare 48 hours notice and not paid for that session. In this event, the contract will be renegotiated.
Clare and I will give at least 48 hours notice of holidays or other break. I understand that I will lose my deposit if I don't give 48 hours notice and that if I continue to work with Clare another £40 deposit will be required.
